3 Things You Don't Need to Get Approved at The Pointe Brodie Creek

Most people know you need to make the right amount of income and have a clean background check to qualify for a luxury apartment in Little Rock. But you might be surprised to learn there are a few things you don’t need to qualify!

Here at The Pointe Brodie Creek, there are three qualifications we get asked about often and we are happy to clear them up in this blog post. 

If you are getting ready to put in an application, look at our checklist first, then prepare to have some of your own questions answered below.

#1: Credit & Rental History

When you submit your application online, our system automatically conducts a credit and background check and sends us the reports.

Contrary to what you might assume, you do not need a long credit history or rental history to get approved for an apartment at The Pointe Brodie Creek. In fact, in most instances, no credit is considered good credit!

This is good news if an apartment here will be your first apartment or if you just got your first credit card. You haven’t spent years failing to make payments or skipping out on rent, which are two common things that would get you denied.

#2: Specific Credit Score

Another thing most assume is that we require a specific credit score to approve your application. But we don’t!

Our application system uses a third-party screening tool to grade your credit report on several different factors. It looks at how many different lines of credit you have open, how up to date you are on payments, if any loans are in default, etc. 

The system will then issue your credit as a “pass” or “fail,” not a specific numerical grade or credit score. 

So, if you pass, we can move on to reviewing your rental history before we approve your application. If you fail, your application will be denied.

PS: We do not consider student loans in our review of your credit report, either!

#3: Huge Security Deposit

Many apartment communities, even if they are not labeled “luxury,” require a huge deposit upfront before they will review your application. Sometimes, it’s as much as two months’ rent, which is a hefty amount to pull together just for an application!

That’s not the case here at The Pointe Brodie Creek. 

When you apply, all we require is a $50 application fee (per applicant 18 and over), a $150 administrative fee, and a $150 security deposit. Plus, any pet fees if you are bringing a pet with you.

The next payment you will owe, if you are approved, will be your prorated rent amount on move-in day. Employees of our preferred employers will even get their $50 application fee credited towards their first month’s rent.

In the event you cancel your application before you’re approved, you will get your admin fee and deposit back. But, if you cancel after you’ve been approved, you will not get any amount back.
